He was greatly loved, respected and remembered for his tenacity and strength of character. The image of a bicycle conjures up vivid memories of his spontaneous, numerous visits, chats, and endurance. His life was forged in hardship and toil, but he emerged from this with a sense of character and determination that helped him and his siblings create a new life in a new world.
