It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Yiayia, Constantina Vasiliou, née Louka.
She was born in the small town of Dafni, at a time when Greece was turbulent and things were changing. This strong and brave woman crossed the ocean to begin a new life in Canada. She married the love of her life, Antonios Vasiliou, and they were together for 63 years. She worked diligently from the age of twenty until she retired at sixty-five from Jewish General Hospital. She took on many roles and accomplished them with an enormous heart and resolve of steel.
Constantina passed peacefully in her sleep, at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, on May 17th 2021 at the age of 88. She is survived by her children; John Vasiliou & his wife Nina, Peter Vasiliou & his wife Maria, Amalia Vasiliou & her husband Mike. Her legacy also includes her grand-children, Kira Vasiliou, Dena Vasiliou, Anthony Vasiliou & Antonios Roumeliotis. She was extremely fortunate to meet her great grand-children, Karim Kerroum & Leila Kerroum and got to know them before she passed. She is also survived by her sisters and brother, as well as a numerous amount of family members.
A piece of her lives on in every person who has met her and loved her. She will be remembered always and forever as a woman who touched many people’s lives. Rest in peace Yiayia.
