It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Despina HATZIOANNOU at the age of 88.
C’est avec grande tristesse et le cœur lourd que nous vous annonçons le décès de Despina HATZIOANNOU, à l’âge de 88 ans.
Despina , loving mother to Athanasios (Colleen) and Leonardos Kolimatsis and devoted grandmother to Kayla and Christina.
She will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, family and friends in Montreal and in Greece. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, which made it possible for her to stay at home till the end. Colleen Haggerty, Kay Mavroukas, Devon Walcott, Sheila Leblanc and Christopher Pike.
We will be laying her to rest in her hometown of Megara, Greece with her beloved family.

It was wonderful that she was able to be at home with loved ones caring for her ♥️ We only met Despina late in her life, sharing a meal with the “Moms”, and we are grateful for that time. God Bless 🙏
When I first met Despina I was instantly drawn to her. She was a regal woman with a great smile a a dry wit. I am very happy that I got to spend time with her abs hear her stories from her childhood in Greece. I will miss her and forever hold a special place in my heart for her. My heart goes out to Tom and Colleen as they grieve and heal. I hope they and all their family take comfort in knowing how much she will be missed and remembered by all who had the pleasure of sharing parts of her life. Rest easy Despina. Thanks for the memories.
