It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evanthia THOUAS NIKOLOPOULOS at the age of 101.

December 4, 1919 – January 17, 2021
It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Evanthia Thouas (born Nikolopoulos), 101 years old, on January 17, 2021.
A long-time resident of Parc Extension, who was affectionately known by family and friends as "Yiayia," was born on December 4, 1919 in Kalavrita, Greece and immigrated to Montreal, Canada with her family in July 1974.
Evanthia is lovingly remembered by her children, Andreas Thouas, Sotiris and Wendy Thouas, Aspasia and Spiros Danopoulos, her 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, along with her brother, many nieces, nephews, and friends in both Montreal and Greece.
We all agree that her happiest times were spent with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, just telling them poems and making them laugh. She lived over a century and for that we are grateful!
Our family is so appreciative for the outpouring of phone calls, emails, texts, and condolences. It gives us such great comfort to hear everyone's kind words.
Her funeral will take place on Thursday January 21, 2021 at St. George’s Cathedral as a private event for the family. She will then be laid to rest alongside her husband Georgios Thouas at the Mount Royal Cemetery in Montreal near her son Theodore (Terry) Thouas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "St. George’s Cathedral” in support of the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal.
