Lamprini Soumas passed away peacefully after a brief illness on August 24, 2021. She was 69 years old. Lamprini was the loving mother of Tasso (Helen) and Cathy (Marin), and the proud grandmother of 5 grandchildren: Alexander, Stephen, Phillip, Christopher and Cynthia. She was married to her great love Vassili for 48 years.
She is also survived by her mother Georgia, aunts and uncles, her sisters Angela (Petro), Niki (Pambo) and Eleni (Costa) as well as their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother’s in law, Tony (Soula), Marino (Magdalini), Peter (Lise), Herc and their children and grandchildren. Lamprini was beloved by everyone who knew her.
Lamprini practiced her strong Greek Orthodox faith in expressing love every chance she could, never forgetting a birthday or a nameday. She was a compassionate spirit who cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was.
She and Vassili loved to garden together and could often be found surprising loved ones by beautifying their gardens. Despite struggling with chronic pain, she was generous with her time, knitting and tailoring for friends and family. She never missed an opportunity to capture special memories with photos and videos for everyone she loved.
Lamprini was beautiful inside and out and that is how she will be remembered. She will be deeply missed.
In her last moments, Lamprini requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the St-John the Baptist Church (4350 Montée St-Hubert, St-Hubert).
Η Λαμπρινή Φρίδα Σούμα απεβίωσε ήρεμα μετά από μια σύντομη ασθένεια στις 24 Αυγούστου 2021. Ήταν 69 ετών. Η Λαμπρινή ήταν η στοργική μητέρα του Τάσου (Ελένης) και της Κατερίνας (Μάριν), και η περήφανη γιαγιά 5 εγγονών: Αλέξανδρος, Στέφανος, Φίλιππος, Χριστόφορος και Σίνθια. Ήταν η σύζυγος του Βασίλη, η μεγάλη της αγάπη, για 48 χρόνια.
Αφήνει επίσης τη μητέρα της Γεωργία, θείες και θείους, τιςαδελφές της Αγγελική (Πέτρος), Νίκη (Χαράλαμπος) και Ελένη (Κώστας) καθώς και τα παιδιά και τα εγγόνια τους. Αφήνει επίσης τους κουνιάδους της Αντώνη (Σούλα), Μαρίνο (Μαγδαληνή), Παναγιώτη (Λίζ), και Ηρακλή, τα παιδιά και τα εγγόνια τους. Η Λαμπρινή αγαπήθηκε από όλους όσους την γνώρισαν.
Η Λαμπρινή ζούσε την βαθιά ελληνορθόδοξη πίστη της εκφράζοντας την αγάπη της με κάθε ευκαιρία. Δε ξεχνούσε ποτέ γιορτές και γενέθλια. Είχε συμπονετικό πνεύμα και νοιαζόταν πολύ για όλους. Το έκανε όχι από υποχρέωση, αλλά από αγάπη.
Η Λαμπρινή και ο Βασίλης αγαπούσαν την κηπουρική και συχνά έκαναν έκπληξη στα αγαπημένα τους πρόσωπα ομορφαίνοντας τους κήπους τους. Παρά το γεγονός ότι υπέφερε από χρόνιο πόνο, ήταν γενναιόδωρη με τον χρόνο της, πλέκοντας και ράβοντας για οικογένεια και φίλους. Δεν έχανε ποτέ την ευκαιρία να αποτυπώσει αναμνήσεις από ιδιαίτερες στιγμές με φωτογραφίες και βίντεο για όλους όσους αγαπούσε.
Η Λαμπρινή ήταν όμορφη σε ψυχή και σε πρόσωπο, και έτσι θα τη θυμόμαστε πάντα. Θα μας λείψει πολύ.
Στις τελευταίες της στιγμές, η Λαμπρινή ζήτησε αντί για λουλούδια να γίνουν δωρεές στην εκκλησία του Αγίου Ιωάννη του Βαπτιστή (4350 Montée St-Hubert, St-Hubert).

Our dearest Vassili, Tasso, Cathy, We would like to express our deepest sympathies for the passing of your beloved wife and dear mother. We have very fond memories of Lamprini. We will always remember her for the kind person that she was. May you all find strength in one another during this difficult time. May she Rest In Peace and may her memory be eternal. It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to a dear friend that I shared so many good times with - although years have gone by but the memories are some of my fondest - so many Christmas holidays together at my parents house - our outings and shared interest in fashion -rest in peace my dear friend love Susan Gabellini and Family-
