It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gemma “Gems” Budree Latchman on Monday April 11th 2022, at the age of 75. surrounded by her family and friends at the Floralie Lachine Nursing Home. She was born August 11th 1946 in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. Gemma grew up on Upper Davis Street in Belmont. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and big sister.
She is predeceased by her husband Sonilal Latchman. She leaves behind her daughter Subrina, Pico, son Fabien, daughter in law Anna, grandson Anthony, Oscar. Brothers: Keith(deceased-Soomatie), Martin (Dhanmatie), Bill. Brother deceased: Mikey(Annette) Sisters: Brenda (Carlton), Annmarie (Linton), Judy, Debra. Family friends Lal Rampersad & family. Leaving to mourn are many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gemma worked for 35 years at the Jewish General Hospital in different departments. She made many lifelong friends. Hilaria, Beverly, Verna, Jenny, Marcia and too many other staff members to name.
The family would like to thank all those who have shown support and given assistance over the years and in this time of grief. Especially her long time family doctor Dr Zampini. A special thank you to her caregivers, Shelley and Eliza.
