It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Ioannis "John" Kalantzis at the age of 82. Born in Kaplani, Messinia, Greece on June 15th, 1940. Son of the late Panagiotis Kalantzis and Stavroula Kalantzis (nee Savakis). He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on Friday, May 27, 2022, after a very courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Maria Kalantzis (nee Dallis), his loving children Stavroula Kalantzis, Soultana (Nektarios) Bountouris, his cherished grandchildren Christos, Maria, and Anastasia Bountouris, his dear siblings Leonidas Kalantzis, Konstantina (Nicolaos) Tsoukalas. His brother and sister-in-laws: Panagiotis Kostolias, Afroditi Kalantzis, Vasiliki Kalantzis, Evstratios Kontos, Konstantinos (Evaggelia) Moshonas and many relatives and close friends in Canada and Greece.
He will be forever in our thoughts, our hearts, and our prayers. He was an inspiration to us all and a man who was clearly devoted to his family and friends who gave so much to others and never asked for anything in return.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the non-profit organization, Nova Home Care. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Nova and the CLSC Parc Extension for their exceptional care, comfort, and support during this difficult time.
