It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Kanakis Grillakis on June 23, 2022, from Chania, Crete, Greece, after a beautiful and full life at the age of 93.

Beloved husband of Eleni Goniotakis for 64 years. Loving father to his daughters Alexandra and Erasmia (Louis Borondy). Cherished grandfather to John Kanakis and Eleni Violet. Beloved son of the late Apostolos Grillakis and the late Alexandra Mavriyianakis, Dear brother of the late Manousos (Ioanna) and the late Agiroula (late Markos) and the late George (Christina) and brother-in-law of the late Chrisoula (Joseph) and the late Elizabeth (late George).

He will be fondly remembered by his nephews, nieces, as well as relatives and friends.

Kanakis was a guiding light whose love showed the way and is forever imprinted on our hearts.

Agape mou, Baba, Papou you are eternal and without end.

The family will receive condolences at Aeterna Funeral Complex 55, Gince Street, Montreal (St. Laurent) H4N 1J7 on Wednesday June 29, 2022 from 4 pm to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday June 30, 2022 at 11:30 am at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral 2455 Cote St. Catherine Road, H3T 1A8 followed by the burial at Mount-Royal cemetery. Following the burial service, family and friends are invited to share in the Makaria at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
