With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a remarkable man who embraced life with an unwavering spirit. Alexandros Sarafidis departed this world at home, on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the age of 89.

He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted children, Gina and Daniel, daughter-in-law Kimberly, his grandchildren, Julien, Kaily, Landon, Jennifer, Jordan and Shane, his nieces Katia, Vicky, Gina, and Pandora, as well as extended family and friends. Gently called home by the Creator, Alexandros is now reunited with his cherished wife, Asimenia (née Dimopoulou), as they rest together in the eternal embrace of God. He is also reunited with his parents, Iordanis Sarafidis and Ekaterina (née Maniatopoulou), and his brothers Mario and Dimitri.

A true gentleman in every sense, Alexandros lived a long and rewarding life, where his family was everything to him. His career in fine furniture showcased an appetite for elegance and craftsmanship. He embraced early retirement, to dedicate his time to the passions that brought him joy and fulfillment. An avid oil painter, his artistic expressions captured the beauty he saw in the world. His green thumb was evident in the garden he cultivated, a testament to his love for nature and the tranquility it brought him. He enjoyed meeting up regularly with his friends for his morning coffee at the Cote Vertu Plaza. Alexandros’s adventurous spirit led him to explore the world through travel with his family. His heart found its truest joy in returning to the embrace of his homeland, Greece - a place he believed was kissed by God. It was a spiritual homecoming that he made annually in his last years. He would come back with memories of time spent with his dearest cousins and wild stories of swimming with dolphins. He frequently reunited with his daughter in Paris, where as a culinary enthusiast he eagerly indulged in the delights of French cuisine, joined the crowds on the Champs-Élysées for the Tour de France finish, and watched the PSG play football at the Stade de France.

Let us celebrate the legacy of a man whose love knew no bounds, whose creativity knew no limits, and whose zest for life inspired all those who were fortunate enough to know him. May Alexandros find eternal peace, reunited with his loved ones who went before him, and may the memories of his extraordinary life continue to shine brightly in our hearts.

Alexandre, bon voyage.

Condolences! I am very sorry for the loss of our beloved Alexandros! This year has been devastating for our family. Life to you, our beloved cousins, and to your children. I remember all the good times with him, and I feel very sad. At least, he is in good company with his beloved Menia.

Dear Gina and Daniel. I was very saddened by the loss of your father, which unfortunately completes the cycle of emigration of your parents. He was very dear to me, as was my cousin your mother. Always remember them because that way they are never lost. Life to you and your children.

Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the Sarafidis family as they navigate this challenging period of grief. Alexi, a true gentleman, approached life with a contagious zest that touched everyone around him. As our cherished neighbor, he delighted us with the bountiful vegetables from his summer garden, creating a sense of warmth and community. May you draw strength from the cherished memories you shared and find solace in knowing that your father's and grandfather's spirit continues to live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
