It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce Dimitrios Kyriopoulos passing in Montreal at the age of 94 on January 30, 2023 after a courageous battle with Melanoma.
Dimitrios was born in Mistraki, Greece on November 19,1928 to Christos and Efstathia Kyriopoulos and emigrated from Greece in 1959 to start a new life.
He was a beloved husband to Antonia Gardiakou for 62 years, loving father to Chris, Tony (Tamara), Efi, devoted grandfather of Cynthia (Andrew), Kathleen, Dimitri, Christopher and Anthony. Cherished great grandfather to Kleia and Zena, dear brother to Peter, George and Spirdoula, loving brother in law and uncle to all his nieces and nephews who considered him special and one of a kind.
He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace and his memory be eternal.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Aeterna Funeral Complex, 55 rue Gince, St. Laurent, QC, where the viewing will be held on Thursday February 9, from 3:00pm – 9:00pm. The funeral will take place at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2455 Chem. De la Cote-Sainte-Catherine, Montreal, QC, at 1:00pm on February 10,2023. Dimitrios (Jimmy) will be interned at the Mount Royal Cemetery, 1297 Foret Rd, Outremont, QC.

I will always remember his smile. We had many BBQs together celebrating the birthdays of his grandchildren. I remember one time we had a balloon fight - everyone was throwing balloons at each other in the living room and he was just sitting there. Then... suddenly, he got up and started throwing balloons too. Even though there was a language barrier because he spoke greek and I english, this fun-loving grandfather showed me that he loved life and wasn't going to let that stop him! I will miss him.
