It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Leonidas Kopsidis on Jan 3rd 2025, at the age of 78,  surrounded by his loved ones. 

“Uncle Leo” was born in Nea Smirni, Athens, Greece and immigrated to Canada in 1967 where he met and married his wife of 57 years, Dimitroula Nikolopoulos. 

He was predeceased by his brothers Thanasis, and Panagiotis and his sister Vasiliki, and survived by his sisters-in-law Eleftheria Nikolopoulos, Eleni Nikolopoulos (Andreas Pantelis) and brother-in-law George Nikolopoulos (Christina).  

He was the proud uncle of Peter and George Drakopoulos, Angie Drakopoulos (Tom Vriniotis), Costa Perdios (Marika Politakis), Angie Perdios (Chris Daskas), Lena Pantelis (Peter Roumeliotis), Maki Pantelis (Angie Agrigianni), Eleni, Sofia and Nikos Kopsidis. 

He was the proud  grandfather of Ariel, Niko, Periklis, Hailey, Andreas, Loukas, Alexandros and Andreas. 

“Uncle Leo” will be sadly missed by all his friends, family and loved ones here and in Greece, and fondly remembered for his great humour, witty stories, somewhat funny jokes, and boundless generosity.  He never denied a favour that was asked of him, and was always ready to help when help was needed; whether asked of him or not.  His greatest love however was his wife Toula, who was faithfully by his side and remained with him till his last moments. 

The family appreciates all the condolences and wishes from friends and relatives, and we would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to the staff of La Maison de Sérénité who took wonderful care of Uncle Leo in his final days. 

Rest in Peace Uncle Leo.  You will be sadly missed.
