With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Luisa Laurienzo, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by her family.
Born in Matrice, Italy, on October 26, 1933, Luisa made Montreal her home in 1955 with her husband, Nicola Cirino (1931–1985). A dedicated wife and mother, she worked tirelessly as a seamstress to provide a better life for her children. She found joy in gathering with loved ones around the dining table, sharing stories over the delicious meals she prepared. When her grandchildren were young, she devoted herself to caring for them. Fiercely independent, she navigated the city by bus and metro before earning her driver’s license at 53. She was strong-willed, brave, kind, and deeply devoted to her family.
Luisa leaves behind her children, Urbano (Maria) and Lina (Tommy),grandchildren Nicholas (Karyne), Jessica (Eddie), Kevin (Jeana), Savanah, and Nicolas, and great-grandchildren Nathan, James, Ben, Zoë, and Ava. She is also survived by her brother, Michele (Joanne),sisters Francesca, Anna, Esterina (Giuseppe), and Monica, as well as other cherished relatives and friends.
Luisa’s memories will live on forever in our hearts. Her love and strength will forever be a guiding light. She will be deeply missed.
