With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Christos Choubavlis on Monday, September 8, 2025.
Born on June 15, 1937, in Skala, Laconia, Greece, Christos embarked on a new journey in 1967 when he immigrated to Montreal, Canada, in search of new beginnings and a better future.

Christo’s happiest moments were spent in the warm embrace of his greatest love-his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Loula Choubavlis (née Apostolopoulos), with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership.

He will be deeply missed by:
His son Aris and daughter-in-law Antonia Tsonis
His daughter Joanna and son-in-law Jimmy Baloukas
His cherished grandsons: Yanni, Christos, Christos, and Maximos, who brought him endless pride and joy

A passionate sports enthusiast, Christos loved watching soccer, hockey, and football, and took every opportunity to connect with relatives and friends across Canada, the United States, and Greece. He found peace in fishing and created lasting memories during family vacations in Cape Cod.

Christos was a proud active member of the Greek community in Montreal and gave of himself generously, particularly to the Saint Paraskevi Skaliotian Society of Montreal—always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. His legacy of kindness, strength, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
We would like to thank the CISSS Laval Palliative Care team for their kindness and compassion.
