With the sad news of Fred's passing another chapter in our lives has been closed. I spent some time with him over the last couple of weeks and he amazed me with his cheerful attitude throughout, given the seriousness of his diagnosis. He was fairly pain free and lucid until the very end. We talked about all our times together as teenagers, young adults and later in life. It was as rewarding for me as I believe it was for him. I join with others in offering condolences to the family.
