Leonidas “Louie” Diakoumakos

February 13, 1944 – February 21, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leonidas Diakoumakos (Sr) at the age of 81, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 21, 2025.   A beloved husband of 59 years to Polytimi, devoted father to Steve (Michelle) and Nick (Linda), adored grandfather to Leo and Paulina and loving brother to Georgia (Kostas).    

He cherished all his family and friends but his greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren, he loved spending time with them, sharing stories and laughing together.

Louis immigrated to Canada from Laconia, Sparta (Greece) in 1963 and through his incredibly hard work and resilience he built a beautiful life for his family in Montreal.  All who knew him will remember what a very giving man he was, with a big kind heart that welcomed everyone into his home with open arms and great generosity.  A very humble and dedicated family man.

His love for gardening shined through every summer and he always made sure that all his work was shared amongst family and friends to enjoy. 

Gone but will never be forgotten.  May he rest in eternal peace.

The family will receive condolences at Aeterna Funeral Complex, 55 rue Gince, Saint-Laurent, QC H4N 1J7 on Tuesday, March 4 from 4-9PM.  The funeral service will be held at Archangels Michael and Gabriel Church at 11801 Elie-Blanchard, Montreal, QC H4J 1R7 on Wednesday, March 5 at 11am.
