M'écrireIn Loving Memory of Dimitrios Sarantis
(July 25th, 1934 - February 28th, 2026)
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved father, Dimitrios Sarantis, who at the age of 91, peacefully departed on Saturday, February 28, 2026. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Katerina Vasilakou; his children, Tina and Konstantinos Sarantis (Andrea Gaspar); his cherished grandchildren, Michael and Catherine Mourelatos; he also leaves behind many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends in Canada, the United States, and Greece. May his memory be a blessing and a reminder of the love and strength he embodied.
He will forever be remembered for his wisdom, warmth, his infectious laughter, and for being the kindest, sweetest soul who lived a remarkable life filled with love and compassion. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. We were all so blessed to have him in our lives. He was the backbone of our family, the keeper of our traditions, and the warmest embrace on the hardest days. In our hearts we will forever carry his love with us and cherish the memories we shared together as a family. Life will go on but it will never be the same again. We wish he was still here to share in our joys and comfort us in our sorrows. The hardest thing ever was our last goodbye.
Our family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the CVICU (Cardiology Department) at the Jewish General Hospital for their exceptional dedication, and compassionate care during our father’s final days.
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26)
We take comfort in knowing that his soul has returned to our Heavenly Father and that we will one day be reunited in the Kingdom of God.
