In Loving Memory of Nikolaos Markopoulos

1937–2025

Nikolaos Markopoulos passed away suddenly on December 30th, 2025. He was 88 years old.

Nikos was a devoted and loving husband, a proud and caring father and father in-law and a deeply cherished grandfather. His family was the heart of his life, and he expressed his love through acts of kindness, his steady presence, and unwavering generosity.

He was known for his gentle nature, his patience, and his willingness to help others without hesitation. Nikos gave freely of his time, his wisdom, and his compassion. His home was a place of warmth, laughter, and welcome to all who entered.

He found great joy in the time he spent in Evangelismos, Messinia with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He felt a deep connection to the land, his olive groves and his beloved figs. Beneath his stoic nature lay values of kindness, integrity, humility, and devotion to family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his children: Kostas (Kally), Peter (Lia), and his treasured granddaughters Vallerie and Marianna. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of kindness or community care of your choice.
