Georgia-Victoria Sheppard, age 73, passed away unexpectedly
on April 23, 2025, at her home in Athens, Greece.
Georgia was born in Eureka, California, on December 6, 1951,
to Victoria and Everett Sheppard, one of three siblings. At 18 years old, she
moved to Athens, Greece, to pursue higher education, where she stayed, built
her life, and grew her family.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Georgia
was known for her service to others, resilience, persistence, and care. She
dedicated her life to being there for others by sacrificing her own needs and
wanting to be a part of people’s lives in her own way. All she wanted was
connection and acceptance, regardless of her flaws.
Georgia is survived by her daughter Sophia; her beloved
grandchildren, Victoria and Natalie; her sister Alex; her son-in-law George; as
well as extended family and close friends. Honoring her wish to be close to her
daughter, she will be laid to rest in Quebec, Canada.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m at Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 1315 Prince of Wales Dr, Ottawa, ON K2C 1N2.
She will be buried at the Notre Dame Cemetery, Gatineau, Quebec, J8X 3P5.
A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made
in Georgia’s name to Lupus Canada https://www.lupuscanada.org/donate/ or the Alzheimer Society https://alzheimer.ca/ab/en/memory.
Georgia’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
FOREVER LOVED, FOREVER MISSED.
