Le 28 octobre dernier Robert nous a quittés.
Pour ceux et celles qui l’ont connu, vous savez qu’il a bien choisi son moment en s’épargnant de vivre un autre mois de novembre. Comme pour le reste, Robert avait une opinion tranchée sur celui-ci: « Novembre, c’est un mois de merde ».
Il est mort simplement, chez lui, dans son nouvel appartement du Mile-End. Il n’aurait pas espéré mieux.
Ils sont nombreux et nombreuses ceux et celles qui auront marqué son passage sur terre, en particulier ses parents, son frère, sa sœur, ses tantes, ses enfants, Éliane, Eve, Sophie et Antonin et ses petits enfants, son vieux chum St-Arnaud, ses ex-conjointes, ses ami.es, ses blondes et ses collègues, dans plusieurs pays et sur différents continents.
Aucun doute que tous se souviennent de lui comme d’un homme intense, intelligent, sombre, aux convictions claires et au sens de l’humour acerbe. Il nous a fait rire, il nous a aimés et il nous a haïs. Plusieurs d’entre nous lui doivent l’affection et la curiosité pour la littérature et pour l’Afrique subsaharienne. Sans aucun doute ses plus longues histoires d’amour.
Si vous vous reconnaissez, merci d’avoir fait partie de sa vie et à travers lui (et ses histoires) de la nôtre.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicholas (Nick) KELEPERAS at the age of 59.

Nicholas Keleperas "Nick", was a gentle soul that left us too soon on Saturday January 22nd, 2022, at the age of 59,  surrounded by his loved ones. 

Nick was truly special. His warmth, generosity, and kindness touched all who knew him. He was selfless and compassionate, always putting others before himself and always eager to help. 

Nick fought boldly against lymphoma for 8 years. Even during his toughest days, he remained strong and positive. 

Nick led a successful career in the travel industry for 40 years. Through this time, he met some of his closest friends that he considered family. His caring demeanor and dedication to his clients made him well respected and valued in the Greek community. Everyone knew they could depend on Nick.  

His love for his community extended to the Pangitsa Church where he grew up. He treasured his spiritual fathers' Father Nick and Archbishop Sotirios.  

Nick was a devoted son to his mother Chrisanthi. He was loved fiercely by his Godfather and Uncle Vangelis who was a second father to him, his aunt and Godmother Fedra, his uncle Filimona and Aunt Elpida, his Aunt Smaragda, and Uncle Yianni.   He leaves behind his beloved cousins Helen (Gerry), Angela, John (Peggy), Billy (Tanya), Fedra, Tommy, Frank, Mihali, Fedra, Flora, John, George, his Goddaughter Dora. He will leave a deep void in the heart of his dear companion Helen and her entire family who loved and cherished him. 

Nick will be deeply missed by all his friends and family who had the privilege of knowing him. He has now joined his father, Elias, and his cousin Nick, in heaven.  

The family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors, and staff at the Jewish General Hospital that encouraged, supported, and comforted Nick through all these difficult times.
