Helen was born in Montreal on March 8, 1945, to Harriet Ruth Moncrieff and Albert George Nickle. Known for her sharp wit and independent spirit, she lived life on her own terms, leaving an unforgettable impression on everyone she met.
With a passion for cooking and reading, Helen spent countless hours in the kitchen and losing herself in the pages of her favorite books while soups simmered, or casseroles baked. Her life may have been unconventional in many ways, but it was undeniably hers—authentic and unapologetic.
She will be remembered by many as someone who spoke her truth, was quick to laugh, generous, and willing to help when she could.
There will be no formal service. Her family invites you to celebrate her memory in a way that feels right for those who knew her.
