It is with heavy hearts but warm memories that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Mary Demitro, who left us on February 15, 2025, at the age of 73.
Born on September 15, 1951, Mary was a shining light to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her daughter Cristina and her son-in-law John. Her four grandchildren: David and his wife Claudia, Isaac and his wife Strawberry, Joseph and Saraphin. Her two great-grandchildren: Ezekiel and Chloe. Her brothers and sisters. Her nieces and nephews. Her cousins and friends.
Mary’s presence was as unforgettable as it was uplifting. A woman of strength, wit, and brilliance, she brought joy into every room she entered. Her quick wit and sharp sense of humor never failed to brighten the darkest of days, and her infectious laughter could turn the simplest moment into a memory we would all cherish forever. Mary had a way of making everything seem a little lighter, always quick with a joke that would leave everyone in stitches.
But Mary’s brilliance extended far beyond her humor. She was incredibly intelligent and gifted, approaching life’s challenges with a remarkable blend of insight and grace. Her generosity was boundless, always willing to offer a hand, a kind word, or a moment of support to anyone who needed it. She believed in the power of kindness and never hesitated to show it through her actions.
Above all, Mary was sweet in the most profound way—a gentle spirit who loved deeply and fiercely. Her love for family was immeasurable, and she found joy in the simplest acts of connection. She was a sister, a friend, and a guiding light to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to live on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the love she so generously gave. Mary Demitro will always be remembered for her strength, humor, brilliance, generosity, and the sweetness that made her a one-of-a-kind soul.
Rest in peace, Mary. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
