Edward Wayne Innes

1959-2025 August 25, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear friend Edward Wayne Innes, who slipped away peacefully in his sleep in Montreal on 25 August 2025.

Born in Peterborough, Ontario, on 11 October 1959, Wayne was the son of Bruce Innes and Helen Ruby Snudden.

Wayne will be warmly remembered for his mischievous sense of humour, his passion for ice hockey, his fondness for all things Scottish -save for the bagpipes- and above all, his unwavering loyalty to his friends.

A wake will be held at Winnie’s Bar, 1455 Crescent Street, Montréal, on Thursday 16 October at 17h00. All who knew and loved Wayne are most welcome to join us in bidding him:

Farewell, dear friend, you’ve taken your rest,
Your work is done, you’ve given your best.
The night is still, the stars shine bright,
Godspeed you home into the light.

Though softly we weep, our hearts still ache,
Your kindly smile we’ll not forsake.
No more we’ll walk the glen together,
But love holds fast, it fades out never.”
