Funeral announcements at the complex

Kamal (Abadir) MIKHAIL

1932-2020 April 27, 2020

It is with great sadness and heartache that the family of Kamal Mikhail announces his peaceful passing on April 27, 2020, at the age of 87.

Beloved father of Rita (Tom) and Sandra (Domenic). Ever proud and loving grandfather to Matthew, Michelle and Alessio. He will be greatly missed by his longtime companion, Adeline, and especially by all of his beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, in Egypt and in Canada. He was a faithful and devoted friend to many - including those who embraced him at the Royal Canadian Legion of Lachine, and the numerous families at Lancaster Park, in Ontario.  There, he would spend almost 40 of his happiest summers, surrounded by nature's beauty.  So many wonderful and fulfilling memories that will be cherished by anyone and everyone who knew him.

Music, people, and entertaining were his passion. His greatest pleasures came from artistic creation and building things with his own hands. He loved to laugh, dance, cook and bottle his own wine. He will forever be remembered for his, kindness, thoughtfulness and beautiful smile. Born in Sudan and raised in Cairo, he and his young bride (Catherina Radimir) would immigrate to Canada, in 1965, to start a new life.  He began his career as a Banquet Manager at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel and he continued, thereafter, making a living doing what he loved most. He was very proud of his family, his roots, his independence. Always the best-dressed man in the room, always charming and full of class. He will be remembered by many as Mr. Mike, the man with a true zest for life.  He will live on, forever in our hearts. May he rest in peace.

A sincere thank you to the healthcare staff at the Lakeshore Hospital for their care and compassion during his stay, the Montreal Neurological Institute, and the Richardson Rehabilitation Center for their kindness and attention.

In light of the current restrictions, a memorial service in celebration of his life will be arranged at a later date, in Montreal, QC and in Lancaster, ON.

The family welcomes donations in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, the Lakeshore Hospital Foundation or the Royal Canadian Legion of Lachine #85/90, as an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers.
